My kids have since flown the coop and have families of their own. The other day I was cleaning out papers and came across my all time favorite recipe for playdough. I have saved this paper for years! My girls would have hours of fun and imagination with the playdough. It is too good not to share with you! So here it is:
Recipe for Playdough
2 C. flour
2 C. colored water (use any color you want. To color, use food coloring)
1 T. cooking oil
1 t. cream of tartar
Place all ingredients in a medium size pan. Cook on low until play dough thickens. (This is the coolest part ever!) Little hands can play with the dough as soon as it is cool. Keeps best when placed in a plastic bag and put into the fridge.
Truth be known, this play dough is great therapy for adults too! I especially love the feeling of grabbing a warm piece of play dough and mulling it over in my hands. When it cools, I find myself rolling imaginary worms or making pretty cookies. Eventually I will remember what I should be doing that day and playtime will end - until next time!
